1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Grabook handles information when you use the iOS app. It applies to the app features that help you create book stickers, save covers and photos, capture excerpts, keep bookmarks, and write reading notes.
2. Information you create or import
Depending on how you use Grabook, the app may process content that you choose to add, including:
- Photos or images of books that you capture with the camera or import from your photo library.
- Book titles, cover images, stickers, excerpts, bookmarks, reading progress, and reading notes.
- Text recognized from images when you use OCR-related features.
- App preferences such as language, appearance, paper style, and iCloud sync choice.
This content is used to provide Grabook's app functionality. We do not use it for advertising, cross-app tracking, or sale to third parties.
3. Local storage and iCloud sync
Grabook stores your content locally on your device by default. If you enable iCloud sync in the app, your Grabook data and images may be synchronized through Apple's iCloud services using your private iCloud account. We do not operate a separate Grabook account server for this data.
Apple may process iCloud data according to Apple's own terms and privacy policy. You can manage iCloud availability and storage from your device's Apple ID and iCloud settings.
4. Camera, photo library, and OCR
Grabook asks for camera or photo library access only when you use features that need those permissions, such as capturing a book image or importing a photo. Images are processed to create your Grabook content.
Text recognition is used to help read book titles or excerpt text from images. The app uses on-device Apple technologies for this recognition in the current implementation.
5. Purchases
Grabook may offer in-app purchases or subscriptions through Apple's StoreKit and App Store systems. Payment details are handled by Apple, not by Grabook. The app checks purchase entitlement information so it can unlock paid features.
6. Tracking, advertising, and analytics
Grabook does not include third-party advertising SDKs, does not use data to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not sell personal information.
The app's current Apple privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking. If this changes in a future version, this policy and the App Store privacy information should be updated.
7. Diagnostics and logs
Grabook may create local technical logs or diagnostics while features run, such as timing information used to understand app behavior during development or troubleshooting. We do not operate a server that receives ongoing analytics from the app.
Apple may provide crash reports, diagnostics, purchase records, or App Store analytics to developers through Apple developer tools, depending on your device settings and Apple's policies.
8. Data sharing
We do not share your Grabook content with advertisers or data brokers. Your data may be handled by third-party services only in the following limited situations:
- Apple iCloud, when you choose to enable iCloud sync.
- Apple App Store and StoreKit, when you view, buy, restore, or manage in-app purchases.
- Apple system services, where iOS provides permissions, diagnostics, crash reporting, or device-level functionality.
9. Your choices
- You can choose whether to grant camera and photo library permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can choose whether to use iCloud sync from within the app and from iOS iCloud settings.
- You can delete Grabook content in the app, and you can remove the app from your device.
- You can manage subscriptions and purchase history through your Apple ID settings.
10. Children's privacy
Grabook is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app is primarily local-first and does not operate a user account service, we do not knowingly maintain children's personal information on a Grabook-controlled server.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Grabook's features, data handling, or legal requirements change.
12. Contact
For privacy questions, please contact the developer through the support channel listed on Grabook's App Store product page.
